Recipe Ham Pea Soup
Add the whole celery stick onion carrot and 1 of the bay leaves.
Recipe ham pea soup. Simmer covered 1 1 4 to 1 1 2 hours or until peas and vegetables are tender stirring occasionally. Thickly sliced ham trimmed of any fat and dicedmethod. Stir in onion celery and sliced garlic.

Add onion carrots celery and thyme. In a dutch oven or 5 quart heavy pot with a lid heat oil over medium. Cook until vegetables begin to soften 5 to 8 minutes.
Sprinkle in the thyme leaves along with the 2 bay leaves and a grind of black pepper. Bring to a simmer over a medium high heat skimming any residue that appears on the surface of the liquid. Adding only 2 cups cubed ham adds lots of savory flavor but keeps sodium under 400 mg per serving.
Throw in the chopped onion carrots celery and garlic saute til soft. Cook slowly until the onions are translucent but not brown 5 to 8 minutes. Frozen petit pois300g.
