Recipe Bread Maker Hot Cross Buns
Place the buns into the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Recipe bread maker hot cross buns. When the bread maker beeps and it has finished making your hot cross buns dough roll it into 9 bread balls. When it beeps that it is finished take the dough out and cut into 12 even size pieces. Set the bread maker to dough setting or raisin dough setting if you have it.
Place balls 1 2 apart in pan. Put all of the hot cross bun ingredients into your break maker in the order listed excepting the dried fruit. Add fruit at signal.
Bake for 10 15 mins until brown and hollow sounding when tapped. Put all ingredients except fruit into bread machine. Add the softened butter cinnamon and currants and mix for an additional 5 minutes.
Mix on low speed using the dough hook scraping the dough down occasionally for 10 minutes. Put the fruit into the extras tray on your bread maker or leave to one side to add towards the end of the kneading cycle. Then cover them with the oiled polythene bag and leave them to rise which will take about 30 minutes by which time the buns will have almost doubled in size and are ready.
If the mixture seems too dry add water in very small amounts. Preheat the oven on convection 200 c meanwhile to make the crosses rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs add enough water to make a paste thick enough to be piped. Then choose the basic bake.
Cut cross into top with sharp knife. Add flour milk powder sugar salt egg and egg white. Pipe crosses onto the buns.
