Recipe Hummus From Dried Garbanzo Beans
Add the olive oil minced garlic cumin and a 1 2 teaspoon of salt to the whipped tahini and lemon juice.
Recipe hummus from dried garbanzo beans. Stream reserved bean liquid into the mixture as it blends until desired consistency is achieved. In a fine mesh strainer drain the chickpeas and run cool water over them for about 30 seconds. Let stand until cool enough to handle.
Adapted from a rachael ray recipe. Drain chickpeas reserving liquid. Add half of the chickpeas to the food processor and process for 1 minute.
Bring chickpeas to boiling then simmer about 1 2 hour until tender. Olive oil 1 2 t. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Place 3 cups of the drained chickpeas tahini lemon juice garlic and cumin into a blender preferably a high powered one. Crushed pepper flakes 1 t. Ingredients 1 14 5 oz can garbanzo beans drained reserve liquid or 1 3 4 c.
Process for 30 seconds scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl then process another 30 seconds or until well blended. Add a few tablespoons of the cooking water if necessary to thin the hummus to the desired consistency. Blend garbanzo beans lemon juice olive oil garlic cumin salt and sesame oil in a food processor.
Tahini sesame paste 2 t. Ground cumin 1 t. Meanwhile in a food processor or high powered blender combine the lemon juice garlic and salt.
