Recipe Mac N Cheese Sauce
Add cheddar cheese to milk mixture and stir until cheese is melted 2 to 4 minutes.
Recipe mac n cheese sauce. Pour 500ml milk into a large saucepan and add 4 tbsp plain flour and 50g butter. In a large saucepan melt butter over medium high heat. Once the butter has melted whisk in flour and cook until it begins to smell nutty and fragrant about 45 60 seconds. Bring to sauce to a bubble and thicken about 3 4 minutes. Add a little milk about cup.
Stir in mustard then add cheese and stir until it melts. Cook for 10 15 minutes to a thickened and smooth sauce. Keep whisking fast as the butter melts and the mixture comes to the boil the flour will disappear and the sauce will begin to thicken.
Once this happens you can add another cup milk and repeat until all the milk has been added. Meanwhile preheat the grill to hot. Turn on the heat to medium and start to whisk the mixture.
Cheese is added to the white sauce to make cheese sauce. Whisk in milk and stock and continue whisking vigorously until flour and butter have dissolved. This will incorporate fairly quickly into the dough and will once again come away from the sides of the pan and look like dough.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Slowly pour milk into butter flour mixture while continuously stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbling about 5 minutes. Stir in flour salt and pepper until smooth about 5 minutes.
