Lamb Shoulder Chops Recipe Oven
Remove the chops form the pan and let them rest on a plate for 3 to 5 minutes.
Lamb shoulder chops recipe oven. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 to 7 minutes before serving hot. Place the chops with the marinade in a single layer in an oven proof skillet and place the skillet in the oven directly beneath the broiler. For medium rare look for internal temperature of 125 f.
Do not let the baking dish dry out and add a little more water or broth as needed. Cover the pot or pan tightly with a lid or foil. Season lamb chops with salt and pepper.
Mix the onion spice mixture back with the lamb. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Sear the lamb chops just for a minute on each side to really lock in the goodness.
Place the lamb chops in the dish and turn around a few times to coat the chops with the marinade. Sear the lamb chops for 1 2 minutes on each side. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius 400 degrees fahrenheit.
Turn the chops in the dish a couple of times in between. How long you cook them for is up to you i personally don t mind the centres being cooked since i like the skins crisp but if you like your lamb pink give them 30 minutes if not 45 minutes. Cook chops for 3 to 4 minutes per side.
Add the lamb to the hot skillet and cook until medium rare 4 to 5 minutes per side. Place the lamb and pan contents into a baking dish and pour the broth over the lamb then place the dish into the oven. Leave to marinate for about 1 hour at room temperature.
