Transfer pinto beans to a slow cooker.

My mom would say to cook them overnight on low but i find that the pinto beans are overcooked and mushy. Serve with cornbread rice a green salad or slaw. Place beans into a large stockpot.
Rinse the pinto beans in a strainer. Stir in 5 1 2 cups water and remaining ingredients. Add salt to taste.
