Fill two thirds of the way with pie weights or dry beans. Step 3 bake for 20 minutes. Gradually beat in 1 3 cup sugar until stiff peaks for the meringue best part of the pie if you ask me.
If you are using a packaged frozen pie crust please follow the directions on the package to pre bake. Poke the bottom.
