Recipe Green Beans Bacon Vinegar Sugar
Remove the bacon pieces to a bowl leaving behind the bacon grease.
Recipe green beans bacon vinegar sugar. Cook stirring often 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Saute the onions in the bacon fat until soft. Drizzle over everything in the dish.
Steam green beans for about 3 4 minutes. Add vinegar and brown sugar and cook until the sugar dissolves. Keep on a low medium simmer till the vinegar evaporates.
Remove bacon mixture from pan with slotted spoon. Cut bacon into chunks and cook over medium until the fat is rendered out and the bacon is crispy. Cook and stir bacon and onions in dutch oven or small stockpot on medium heat until bacon is crisp.
Garnish the casserole with green onions before serving. When onions and bacon are done add green beans back to the pan and add sugar and vinegar. Stir in vinegar and sugar heating just until sugar is dissolved.
Bring to a boil. Simmer 12 to 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Drain on paper towels. You can substitute fresh or frozen green beans if you prefer. Add vinegar sugar and undrained green beans.
