Recipe Ham And Bean Soup Thick
Place beans in a dutch oven.
Recipe ham and bean soup thick. Sauté the ham for 3 5 minutes over medium heat or until it achieves a decent amount of browning. Dice the ham into bite sized chunks. Using a potato masher mash up the soup to create a thick and creamy consistency through out and serve.
Take a potato masher and mash the potatoes and some of the beans this makes a wonderfully thick soup. Add water to cover by 2 in. Remove ham bone and pick off meat give ham bones to dog.
In a large pot over high heat bring the water to a boil. Add the onion carrots celery and garlic to the pot in place of the ham. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
In a large saucepan saute the carrots celery and onion in butter until tender. Add the salt and the beans and remove from heat. Serve with either crackers or corn muffins.
Stir in cubed ham and bury the ham bone in the center of the dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat.
Oh yea salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 15 minutes or until heated through. Cover and let stand for 1 to 4 hours or until beans are softened.
