Recipe Ham Glaze Pineapple
In a saucepan combine the pineapple juice brown sugar honey and orange juice.
Recipe ham glaze pineapple. Bake ham in the preheated oven until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the ham reads 140 degrees f 60 degrees c 1 1 2 to 2 hours. Make this glaze on the day of baking your ham. Place the ham in a roasting pan and dot with cloves.
In a small bowl mix light brown sugar and remaining dark brown sugar. Mix together and microwave for about 5 minutes until mixture is thick. Pour some of this glaze over the ham about every 15 minutes in the last hour of baking until all is used.
In a medium microwave safe bowl combine brown sugar and reserved pineapple juice. Pour the glaze over the ham. Pour remaining pineapple mixture over ham.
The glaze should reflect the ingredients used to cook the ham and so here it is pineapple juice with the lovely flavor of star anise and for sweetness and ultimate stickiness the soft brown sugar. Remove ham from oven. Bake ham uncovered 10 15 minutes longer or until a thermometer reads 140.
Increase oven setting to 425. Serve with reserved sauce. Step 4 while the ham is baking mix the pineapple juice and brown sugar in a microwave safe ceramic or glass bowl and microwave on medium power until the glaze is boiling and slightly thickened.
Stir and simmer over medium low heat until thickened about 10 minutes.
