Recipe Dried Kale Chips
I made my pieces about the size of a small potato chip wash torn kale pieces and spin dry in a salad spinner or dry with paper towels until they re very dry.
Recipe dried kale chips. Remove the baking sheets from the oven. If using the oven then preheat oven to 300f and place the leaves flat on a baking tray with no overlapping. Tear the leaves into pieces of uniform size.
Add to a large mixing bowl and drizzle with oil and seasonings of choice. The kale leaves are not crispy yet they are still limp but getting there. With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces.
In a bowl add the leaves with the olive oil salt and spices and mix well. Cut away inner ribs from each kale leaf and discard. Preheat oven to 250 f.
Mix with 1 4 teaspoon of salt and pepper each. Dry the kale at 145 f 63 c for 1 hour. Rinse and thoroughly dry kale then tear into small pieces and discard any large stems.
Lay kale out in a single layer on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Toss kale with oil in large bowl. Dry the leaves well.
Roast the garlic kale chips for 15 minutes. In a large mixing bowl using your hands mix the kale lemon juice olive oil and sea salt together. With the kale you can lightly spray with oil and sprinkle this seasoning on for a cool ranch flavor.
