Recipe For Jerk Chicken In The Oven
Preheat oven to 350 degrees f 175 degrees c.
Recipe for jerk chicken in the oven. Bake chicken legs until cooked through and skin is crispy about 45 50 minutes rotate chicken half way through roughly 20 minutes. Baste the chicken midway through baking and keep a close eye on it after it s been 30 minutes in the oven. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in th fridge for a minimum of 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Arrange marinated chicken on sheet. Take out of the oven and brush on the reserved marinade.
Preheat your oven at 375 degrees. Slash the chicken thighs down to the bone a couple of times then smear over the jerk paste. Cook for 1 hour or until chicken is fully cooked.
Toss the chicken pieces with the spice mixture then cover and marinate in the refrigerator 2 to 4 hours. The chicken should be cooked after that so if you want to add some rich colour to the finished dish you may need to turn on your broiler for a few minutes. In a small saucepan simmer the remaining jerk marinade and the one from the chicken for about 7 minutes.
Spray cooking spray unto a foil lined 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the chicken pieces skin side down and bake for 45 minutes before turning. Preheat oven to 375f and place chicken pieces on a baking sheet.
Bake until the chicken is fragrant well browned and cooked through 35 45 minutes depending on your oven. Place the baking dish with the chicken on the middle rack and allow this to cook for about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour ideally overnight.
