Recipe Ham Pot Pie
Heat oven to 200c 180c fan gas 6.
Recipe ham pot pie. In a saucepan bring 500 ml 2 cups of the chicken broth with the ham bone and potatoes to a boil the bone is added for flavour. Cut ham into cubes and set aside. Add the peas and ham and cook until the peas are heated through.
Add to ham mixture. Fry the soffrito mix in the oil until it softens and starts to turn golden add the mushrooms and cook for a couple of mins. Roll dough to 1 8 to 1 4 thickness depending on preference.
Stir in the cream and mustard then turn off the heat. Drop dough into broth one piece at a time. Melt butter in a large skillet and cook onion until soft.
She usually serves it alone or with some small side dish because everybody fills there plate with the pot pie. Line the base of your chosen serving dish with one piece of pastry and fill with the ham and vegetable sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes or until the potatoes are al dente.
Lay the pastry on a lightly floured work surface and cut two pieces to line the tins and two for the lids or two circles to fit the pie plate. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and milk. Cook for 1 hours on simmer and stir constantly.
