Recipe Lamb Forequarter Chops Oven
It must be large enough to contain the chops in a single layer step 3 dust the chops with flour and lay over the onions then the potatoes over the top.
Recipe lamb forequarter chops oven. Get your oven ready by preheating it at 200 c or 180 c if fan forced. Step 1 preheat the oven to 180 c 160 c fan forced. In a medium bowl mix together the worcestershire sauce tomato paste mustard garlic and water.
First of all place the lamb chops in a shallow roasting tin with the onion tucked around them. Preheat oven to 400 f. Over medium high heat heat a skillet for 2 3 minutes and add the olive oil.
Coat the lamb in flour shaking to get rid of lumps and excess. Season with salt and pepper then place them on the highest shelf of the oven to bake. While your oven is warming up brown the seasoned lamb chops.
Take the lamb chops and sprinkle with salt and pepper and a little olive oil. Broil for 5 8 minutes on each side using tongs to flip the chops until they are seared on the outside and register around 145 degrees with a meat thermometer. Place the chops with the marinade in a single layer in an oven proof skillet and place the skillet in the oven directly beneath the broiler.
Remove lamb chops from marinade toss any residual oil lemon garlic etc. Transfer the skillet to the oven. How long you cook them for is up to you i personally don t mind the centres being cooked since i like the skins crisp but if you like your lamb pink give them 30 minutes if not 45 minutes.
Add chops to skillet and cook each side for 3 minutes to brown. In a oven proof baking dish add the pumpkin carrots half the mushrooms half the spring onions and garlic. I usually check them after 30 minutes and add more water if it looks a little dry.
