Recipe Lentil Rice Soup
Bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer 30 40 minutes until lentils and rice are cooked through but not mushy.

Add the lentils and the hot water and bring to the boil then cover and simmer for 1 hour or until the lentils are tender.
Stir in the ground coriander turmeric saffron liquid and tomatoes. Simmer covered stirring occasionally 45 55 minutes or until lentils and rice are tender. Add the tomatoes slosh out the can with water and add that.
Stir in parsley and vinegar and season to taste. Add the lentils cover and cook about 15 to 20 minutes. Bring to a boil and simmer rapidly uncovered to reduce the soup by about a quarter and concentrate the flavors about 1 hour.
Add the salt and the rice and stir. Add celery and carrots and cook another 5 minutes. Add the bay leaves and 4 quarts cold water.
